2002: Peter Green/Nigel Watson - Peter Plays the Blues: The Classic Compositions of Robert Johnson
     Artist: Peter Green/Nigel Watson
Album: Peter Plays the Blues: The Classic Compositions of Robert Johnson
     Year: 2002
     Label: Red Ink
     Genre: British Blues, Contemporary Blues
     Format, bitrate: MP3@320 kb/s
     Time: 45:24
     Size: 109,9 MB (+5% recovery)

Peter Green is appropriately reverent on this album of songs written by blues legend Robert Johnson. With Johnson's own recordings readily available, the album isn't really necessary, at least when Green employs the same spare instrumentation as the master. But on tracks like "Cross Road Blues" that use drums, electric bass, and electric guitar in addition to Green's acoustic slide playing and husky singing, there are resources that were not available to Johnson. Songs such as "Love in Vain Blues" and "Walkin' Blues" are so ubiquitous in blues and rock that they really don't need more interpretations, but Green performs them with feeling and authority. ~ William Ruhlmann, AMG

The Mighty Aphrodite Jazz Band is an exciting group of young women from up and down the west coast of Canada and The United States. These six dynamic females are one of the hottest new bands to hit the jazz circuit! The group ranges stylistically from hot new orleans to early swing, powered by strong ensemble playing, inventive soloists, and of course that female touch. Be prepared for something different.

This great new CD from the MAJB is full of exciting new arrangements, including several tunes in 3 and 4 parts vocal harmony.

Louis Armstrong caught his career second wind in the early '50s performing with his All-Stars. His album, Satchmo: Live at Symphony Hall, hit the LP Top Ten and he continued to tour Europe often. Complete 1950-1951 All Stars Decca Recordings collects much, if not all, of the trumpet/vocalist legend's work during that first year of the '50s. It is not clear as to why this period deserves such an anthology over any other period, but it is great work nonetheless and often overlooked. ~ Matt Collar, All Music Guide

A superior post bop pianist influenced by Bill Evans and McCoy Tyner but long possessing his own sound, Enrico Pieranunzi is one of the top jazz pianists living in Italy. He began studying piano when he was five, partly from his father who was a jazz-loving guitarist. Pieranunzi became a professional when he was 19, playing with trombonist Marcello Rosa's quartet. Since then, in addition to leading his own groups, Pieranunzi has worked with many top players (both Europeans and Americans) including Franco Ambrosetti, Chet Baker, Benny Bailey, Art Farmer, Curtis Fuller, Johnny Griffin, Charlie Haden, Jim Hall, Lee Konitz, Sal Nistico, Enrico Rava, Tony Scott, Kai Winding and Phil Woods. Enrico Pieranunzi, who teaches at a conservatory, has done studio work and sometimes works as a chamber music soloist. He has recorded several impressive jazz sets as a leader for Enja, Timeless and especially Soul Note.

A very similar issue to "The Chant Of Time'" made by Video Arts Japan.
It looks like a volume two (or maybe vol I as this one has been recorded one year before). Everything is similar the music, the mood, the tempo, the quality of music and interpretation (again beautiful), even the lady from the picture is the same. Again an album not to be missed.
